Award categories
Health and safety
Judging criteria include: Company’s health and safety practices; number of lost time/injury/fatality incidents over a two-year period; involvement in professional/industry health and safety organizations; peer recognition of health and safety initiatives; and, significant/innovative health and safety initiatives undertaken by the company during the past 24 months

Innovation
Judging criteria include: Examples of innovative practices the company has undertaken in the past 24 months and how those practices have impacted the company and, if applicable, their respective sector in Atlantic Canada and elsewhere; involvement in professional/industry organizations that promote innovation; and, peer recognition/awards

Environmental stewardship
Judging criteria include: Examples of leadership and initiatives the company has undertaken in the past 24 months and how those initiatives have led to positive results regarding environmental stewardship in Atlantic Canada and elsewhere; involvement in professional/industry and/or non-industry organizations that promote environmental stewardship in their respective sector; and, peer recognition/awards

Community Champions
Judging criteria include: Demonstrated ongoing commitment to bettering the communities in Atlantic Canada where the nominee operates; the company’s record for the past two years in terms of funding and human capital provided to support community-building initiatives — including charitable and non-profit organizations in Atlantic Canada; and, the estimated value of these contributions as a percentage of annual revenue

Resource Development
Judging criteria include: Examples of a company successfully executing a resource development project in the oil/gas, mining or renewable energy sectors during the past 24 months in Atlantic Canada; the size and complexity of the project; the jobs and economic impact created in Atlantic Canada during the life of the project; the company’s record regarding proper community consultation with local stakeholders and aboriginal groups

Industry Person of the Year
Judging criteria include: Ability to successfully lead company and its employees; examples of significant initiatives and projects nominee has led during the past 24 months with the company; corporate growth over the past 24 months; personal involvement in professional/industry organizations; and, peer recognition/awards
